What We Provide
Why It Matters
Signs You Need This Service
Not sure if you need whole-home rewiring? Here are the warning signs to watch for.
Knob-and-tube wiring visible
K&T wiring is 80+ years old, ungrounded, and can't handle modern loads. Insurance companies often require replacement.
Aluminum wiring in home
1960s-70s aluminum wiring has connection problems causing fires. It needs COPALUM remediation or full replacement.
Cloth-covered wiring
Cloth insulation degrades and crumbles, exposing bare conductors. This is a fire and shock hazard.
Only two-prong outlets
Two-prong outlets mean ungrounded wiring. While adapters and GFCI protection help, full rewiring provides true grounding.
Insurance refusing coverage
Insurers often refuse coverage or charge premiums for homes with old wiring. Rewiring solves this permanently.
Fuse box instead of breakers
Fuse boxes indicate very old wiring that likely needs replacement along with the panel.
Charred or melted outlets
Burn marks indicate overheating from inadequate wiring. The entire circuit—possibly the whole house—needs inspection.
Home built before 1970
Pre-1970 homes often have wiring that can't safely handle modern electrical demands. Proactive rewiring prevents problems.

Our Process
1. Comprehensive Assessment
We thoroughly inspect your existing wiring—identifying knob-and-tube, aluminum, or degraded wiring. We assess panel condition, map existing circuits, and evaluate access points through attic, basement, and wall cavities.
2. Rewire Planning
We design the new circuit layout, plan wire routing to minimize wall damage, and identify where strategic access openings will be needed. You'll know exactly where we need to cut and what the finished result looks like.
3. Detailed Quote
You receive a comprehensive quote covering the new panel, all wiring, devices, labor, and permits. We itemize the work so you understand exactly what's included. Drywall patching can be included or handled separately.
4. Permit & Preparation
We pull the electrical permit and prepare the home for rewiring. Furniture is moved or covered in work areas, and we establish our staging area for materials and tools.
5. New Wiring Installation
Working room by room, we run new copper wiring from the panel location through attic, basement, and wall cavities to every outlet, switch, and fixture location. We use strategic access openings to minimize damage.
6. Panel Installation
We install the new 200A panel (or larger if needed), terminate all new circuits, install AFCI breakers for bedrooms and living areas, GFCI breakers for wet areas, and label every circuit clearly.
7. Device Installation
With new wiring in place, we install new outlets, switches, and fixtures throughout the home. Every device is grounded, tested, and verified working before we move to the next room.
8. Inspection & Completion
We schedule the electrical inspection, address any inspector questions, and ensure you receive passed inspection documentation. Access openings are patched (or ready for your drywall contractor), and the job is complete.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about whole-home rewiring
How long does a whole-home rewire take?
Most homes take 3-7 days depending on size, access, and complexity. We work room by room to minimize disruption.
Will you have to cut into my walls?
Some drywall work is usually necessary, but we minimize openings using attics, basements, and strategic access points. We can patch or coordinate with your contractor.
Is knob-and-tube wiring dangerous?
It's not inherently dangerous when intact, but it lacks grounding, can't handle modern loads, is often degraded, and insurance companies frequently require replacement.
What about aluminum wiring?
Aluminum wiring from the 1960s-70s has connection issues. We can remediate with proper COPALUM connections or complete replacement.
Can I stay in my home during rewiring?
Usually yes. We work in sections and restore power each day. Some disruption is unavoidable but we minimize impact.
Will I need to repaint after rewiring?
Some drywall patching and painting is typically needed. We minimize openings, but some access holes are unavoidable. We can coordinate with painters.
Does rewiring include a new panel?
Usually yes. Old panels can't support modern AFCI/GFCI requirements. We typically include a new 200A panel with whole-home rewires.
Can you add more circuits while rewiring?
Absolutely. Rewiring is the perfect time to add dedicated circuits for appliances, workshops, and future needs.
