Signs You Need This Service
Not sure if you need ev charger installation? Here are the warning signs to watch for.
Charging takes forever
Level 1 charging (standard 120V outlet) only adds 2-5 miles per hour. If you're plugged in overnight and still not fully charged, you need a Level 2 charger.
Extension cord use
Using extension cords for EV charging is a fire hazard. Extension cords overheat under sustained high loads and are not rated for EV charging amperage.
Tripped breakers when charging
Your circuit can't handle the charging load. The outlet may be on a shared circuit or your panel may need an upgrade for dedicated EV circuit.
Warm or hot outlet
A warm outlet indicates the connection can't handle the load. This is a fire hazard—stop using immediately and have it inspected.
Inconsistent charging
If your EV shows charging errors or stops mid-charge, the problem is usually inadequate wiring, a faulty outlet, or voltage drops under load.
You've bought or ordered an EV
Don't wait until delivery—Level 2 charger installation takes 1-2 weeks to schedule. Plan ahead so you can charge at home from day one.
Outdoor charging without protection
Charging outside without a proper weatherproof installation risks water damage, corrosion, and electrical hazards. We install NEMA-rated outdoor chargers.
Shared garage outlet
If your only garage outlet serves multiple tools and devices, adding an EV creates an overload risk. You need a dedicated 50-amp circuit.

Our Process
1. Free Site Survey
A licensed electrician visits your home to assess your electrical panel capacity, determine optimal charger location, measure conduit runs, and identify any obstacles. We'll discuss your EV model, daily driving habits, and charging preferences.
2. Charger Selection
Based on your EV, driving patterns, and budget, we recommend the best charger for your needs. We explain the differences between hardwired and plug-in options, smart vs. basic chargers, and help you choose the right amperage.
3. Detailed Quote
Within 24 hours, you receive a flat-rate written quote covering all costs: charger (if we're supplying), circuit installation, conduit, permit fees, and any panel work needed. No surprises or hidden fees.
4. Permit & Scheduling
We pull the required electrical permit from your municipality. EV charger installations require permits and inspection in St. Louis and St. Charles counties. We handle all paperwork and schedule installation at your convenience.
5. Professional Installation
Our licensed electricians install the dedicated 240V circuit, run conduit to your charger location, mount the charger (or install the NEMA 14-50 outlet), and make all connections per NEC code requirements. Most installations complete in 2-4 hours.
6. Code Inspection
We schedule the required electrical inspection with your municipality. The inspector verifies proper circuit sizing, GFCI protection (if required), and code-compliant installation. We stay on-site to answer any questions.
7. Setup & Training
After passing inspection, we configure your charger, connect it to WiFi, set up the manufacturer's app on your phone, and verify charging operation with your vehicle. We walk you through all features and answer any questions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about ev charger installation
Do I need a panel upgrade for an EV charger?
It depends on your current panel capacity. Many homes with 200A panels can add a charger without upgrades. We'll assess and only recommend upgrades if truly necessary.
Can you install chargers outdoors?
Yes. We install weatherproof chargers and can run conduit to outdoor locations like driveways, carports, or detached garages.
What brands do you install?
We install all major brands including Tesla, ChargePoint, Wallbox, Emporia, JuiceBox, Grizzl-E, and Lectron.
How long does EV charger installation take?
Most installations take 2-4 hours. If panel upgrades or long conduit runs are needed, it may take longer.
What's the difference between Level 1 and Level 2?
Level 1 uses a standard 120V outlet (2-5 miles/hour). Level 2 uses 240V and charges 5-10x faster (25-30 miles/hour).
