In recent decades, Iran’s building industry has
devoted a great share of country’s economic
activities to itself. In spite of this, the general
satisfaction with architecture and built
environments has been ever-decreasing as well as
extensively criticized. All of these critics have
something in common: not accepting the present
circumstances, and feeling responsibility for
‘change’ toward a pleasing situation.
Conducting the “educational workshop” on
Acquaintance with Architectural Programming could be
helpful. This is an action along the common desire
for more comfort and functional places-well
harmonized with their environments. Nevertheless,
designing such places could not be done by accident;
rather it requires an ultra-partial point of view
and an entire analytic pre-design process which
could be called “knowledge” of architectural
programming.
Our “Educational Workshop on Acquaintance with
Architectural Programming” is an attempt for sharing
our achievements with the clients and consulting
engineers as well as beginning a dialogue on this
issue in Iran. |
